Extension to the listed Town Hall
Munich-Pasing

The light, pavilion-like extension is in deliberate contrast to the solid state of the listed Town Hall in Pasing. The horseshoe shape of the new building creates a series of courtyards that create for the public a calm approach to and transition through the Town Hall grounds. The ground floor façade, which features a generous use of glass, rests on the solid base area and delineates the public facilities such as the civic center and the registry office. The surrounding offices on the 1st and 2nd floors boast an upright half-timbered façade with a balcony for cleaning in front. The courtyard façade of rampant-arched structure is dominated by the rhythmic interchange between self-contained, large-format white concrete pre-fabricated elements and the vertical ventilation window strips.
