The Alpine hotel is situated on the shore of an Alpine lake and is characterised by the surrounding mountains. A central theme of the design is the integration of the landscape in the new hotel building so that all hotel rooms have a view of the lake, the mountains or the well-designed inner courtyard.
A two-storey, representative entrance hall serves as distributor to the different usages of hotel, gastronomy, spa and conference rooms. The spa area of the hotel is unusual in that it is spread over several storeys so that is can react individually to all desired spa zones. The Alpine pool diffuses from the interior to the exterior and merges as Infinity Pool with the lake and the mountains. The roof can be opened if necessary, connecting the interior with the exterior.
With its shingle façade on the south and north sides, the main building echoes the shipbuilding or the boat sheds of the Bavarian lakes. The different parts of the building are separated by diversely designed façades but present a harmonious overall appearance with their similarity of materials and façade structure. In the interiors, regional materials such as wood, natural stone, bronze and leather are newly and contemporarily interpreted.
