Landau + Kindelbacher have been awarded a contract for the interior design of the new building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, which was designed by Henning Larsen Architects and is due for completion in 2015. It will be home to two institutions – the Consular Affairs Department (CAD) and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies (IDS) – whose room arrangements overlap in the central green space, the oases. The culturally determined separation of the sexes and the different security requirements are reflected by the sophisticated zoning of the utilisations.
Selected areas such as the reception areas of the two institutions, VIP lounges, conference rooms with gastronomy and library as well as study areas are being implemented by Landau + Kindelbacher.
