The interior redesign for Discovery Channel is determined by a TV company’s requirements for different area usages of such factors as research, administration and technical workshops. Flexible layouts that can be switched to individual teams characterize the organization of the open working areas. Pods are the space-defining elements, setting accents with their choice of color and surface material.
Pink, glossy boxes divide the various conference units and function as back offices – connectible to the respective area. Bright-green glass cubes in the middle of the work zones contain the executive workspaces. Cafeteria, lounge and internet lounge lead off from the semi-public reception area. One specialty of the room is the room-high trussed girders on the side facing the theater, which provide static support for the underlying two-story stock vaulting.
