The newly built villa is located in a beautiful setting with a unique view of Kitzbühel and the Hahnenkamm, whose world-famous Hahnenkamm Race on the Streif has shaped the ski resort since the 1930s. The geographical location, the charm of the medieval town structure, and the diverse range of sports and cultural activities make the region a major attraction.
The architecture of the chalet reinterprets the classic Alpine building styles. A natural stone base supports a wooden structure that houses the family's living and recreational spaces. An open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area on the top floor offers stunning views over the town of Kitzbühel through large panoramic windows. The west-facing rooftop terrace is equipped with a cozy seating area, a fire bowl, and an outdoor kitchen, making it the perfect place to host and entertain guests in the open air.
The entrance area on the ground floor welcomes residents with backlit mirrored slats that, depending on their orientation, reveal new perspectives as you enter. A wellness area with an indoor pool invites relaxation after a day of skiing. In the two-story swimming hall, a female and a male diving figure made of bronze have been installed on a wall panel clad in Valser quartzite.
Materials consistently used throughout the house include reclaimed wood and locally sourced quartzite. These are complemented by selective material accents, such as the vertical brass trims integrated into the indirect lighting of the staircase, a 6-meter-long block of green onyx on the top floor, the patinated stainless steel surfaces of the kitchens, and the linen-covered cabinet fronts in the master dressing room.
Special features on the upper floor include the braided parquet flooring in the hallway, a tunnel fireplace connecting the master bathroom to the master bedroom, and the alcoves in the children's sleeping area. The architectural highlight of the top floor is the open gas fireplace. The fireplace hood, crafted by an artisan metalworker from burnished brass, appears to float above a natural stone base.
Two of the total five floors were constructed underground. The basement features a spacious wine cellar with climate-controlled cabinets. An oval oak table provides ample space for extensive wine tastings.
