House
in Munich

Situated in a classical residential area in the east of Munich, with a large garden and mature trees, this modern cubic-shaped house integrates itself seamlessly into its surroundings. The white sculptural building seems to hover above the elevated basement, which with its contrasting materiality formulates a clear entrance situation. Whereas the building has a modest appearance on the street side, the generously sized window openings towards the garden create a smooth transition between living areas and garden. The private retreat areas are located in the upper storey and the recessed attic, which is surrounded by an all-round roof terrace. The orientation of the house towards the mature trees in the garden enables a welcome privacy complemented by rich and varied perspectives.
